PhishCatch is a Chrome extension that detects phishing websites, blocks them before your details leave the browser and shares what it finds with every other user.
How it works
Three layers of protection
It checks every page
The address, the connection, where forms send their data and how recently the domain was registered all add up to a risk score from 0 to 100.
It sets a trap
On login pages it fills in fake credentials. If the page tries to send them to a different website, the request is blocked and the site is flagged.
Everyone benefits
Blocked sites go to a review queue. Once approved, every PhishCatch install recognises them straight away.
